Roles and Responsibilities:

The QC Analyst is responsible for supporting the Quality Control group in the performance of intermediate analytical testing techniques, the use of QC equipment, and maintaining the QC laboratory.

Performance of routine intermediate analytical testing techniques and use lab instrumentations. Techniques and equipment include but are not limited to:

· Preparation of standard solutions, mobile phases and solutions, and other preparations for sample analysis

· Use of HPLCs, UV-VIS instruments, ICP-OES and ICP-MS instruments, Titrations, NIR and FTIR instruments.

· Maintain chemical and material inventories.

Work effectively with individual instrument's computer software, spreadsheets, and word processing applications, as they apply to sample analysis (example Empower3 HPLC software).

Performance of testing for all raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, and stability and other samples assigned.

Reading and training on standard operating procedures to carry out general laboratory operations in an effective and safe manner, while maintaining a clean and orderly workspace.

Support the performance of equipment qualification and method validations/verifications.

Detecting and reporting laboratory events and OOS/OOT results to laboratory management and the execution of the subsequent investigations.


Adherence to and being knowledgeable in QC procedures and test methods and support the training of new and less experienced personnel.

Use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE), as defined by a materials SDS and internal standard operating procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

Be knowledgeable with a strong understand of cGMP/cGLP and other regulatory requirements and execute/document all testing in the laboratory according to these standards.

Review Quality documentation and test data for completeness and compliance, forward as required.

Participate in continuous improvement of the Quality Control group and site as a whole; record keeping, lab processes, site safety, etc.

Performance of additional work as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to wear personal protective equipment (safety glasses, respirator, gloves, etc.)

Must possess good written and verbal English skills. Must possess good mathematical skills.

Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift/carry 10-25 lbs.

Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree in a science field.

4+ years prior experience working in a laboratory, preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or nutritional supplement industry.

1-2 years HPLC/GC experience required.

Should have a good understanding of analytical chemistry and techniques.

Must possess strong written and verbal English skills. Must have strong Computer skills.

Must possess strong mathematical skills. Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with objectives without supervision. Good communication required.
